The supermarket tells folks the robot is looking for spills on the floor that folks might slip on and get hurt.
But, the robot does not have many cameras looking at the floor. It does have a lot of cameras that look horizontally at different heights. And, it tends to move down the length of the store with those cameras pointed down the aisles. So, I think it is looking for shoplifters as I don’t think it would see things on the floor well with a horizontal camera 1.8 meters off the ground. But, what do I know? I just design robots for a living…
